Hey folks!
We know you expected Alpha today to have some fun after the Christmas fuzz is over, but we have to share that it is delayed till January 15th. Reasons? Hardware taking an early holiday and KDE Plasma 5 simply isn’t ready yet (and making a 4.x based release for testing doesn’t make that much sense because bugs reported against 4.x wouldn’t be valid for 5.x anyway — and we really think 2015.0 should be based on 5).
What you get in January? Here is the short teaser:
– 90%+ of packages in main repository is built with LLVM/clang
– perl-5.20.1
– by default use libarchive (bsdtar)
– python3 onboard
– work in progress on KDE Frameworks 5, Hawaii and Wayland/Weston support
– LXQt available
– new installer maybe on beta stage
– Qt-5.4.0 and rpm -5.4.15
Sorry for the delay, we will do our best for next stages to be not affected!
